Poles/Nelson's Bay/Pictures are better than my words...

I'm lucky. I'm grateful. I'm overwhelmed by how lucky I am. How beautiful this time in Australia has been. It's more than I could have imagined. I'm in Nelson's Bay at my girlfriend Claire's holiday house on the coast. It's unbelievable---6 bedroom house on the ocean. Like staying at the Ritz Carlton where you can go into the fridge whenever you want and whip up delicious meals. We are having a beautiful time together...some pictures for now, words later....

Coffee at the Little Marionette (cafe next to the studio) Pam, Melissa, Nanny, Claire, and Sid in the lower right corner

Friday vino at Poles...
this is a real kookaburra. 2 of them were flying in and hanging with us when we arrived yesterday. i kept getting closer and closer and they were still hanging out. they are such cool birds. we tried feeding it toast, olives, rocket (arugula), it wasn't interested in any of it...

James' attempt at a fire. I taught him the word 'machismo' he didn't get it.

friday dinner...chicken involtini, ensalada, asparagus to test melissa's claim that she doesn't get asparagus pee. impossible, right?
the crew for dinner...jeff+melissa, claire +james...

this morning we woke up and went for a 2 hour walk--including a little hike up a mountain overlooking the ocean...look at these views!

Making the morning 'flat whites' for everybody. I reckon I could move here and at least make flat whites for a living. I've had enough in my short time here to make me an expert.

la casa de poles...

time for the beach...

unfortunately we had tons of homework, but not a bad place for studying. and really, studying? yoga? i don't know...not much to complain about. the view+yoga=good life.

after we got done doing some of our homework we had the progressive feast. james+jeff went to the fish market and got kilos and kilos of fresh prawns. our first course was...james' prawns on the barbie...delicious marinade of coriander, garlic, and chilies....wine at every turn...

2nd course...prawns, fresh rocket salad with avacado +lentils and you guessed it, wine....

the pool....

3rd course...dips, cheese, crackers, more vino....

making our final course...refridgerator paella...

then i went to take the paella out of the oven and the handle broke off the pan...oops...

the house...fill in the blanks...

a thing or two about a thing or two in the garden...planting parsley+chives..
